Manifestation

To think is to create is a very powerful concept for me. I learned about this idea almost two years ago back in July 2013.

A wise person once told me that things are created twice in this world: once in the mind, and a second time when the item is being manufactured.

Lately, it’s been happening in strange and unexpected ways.

I’m not wishing on a star, nor am I praying for something to happen. But rather, they are passing thoughts that happen instantly.

In one instance, I had a passing thought that it would’ve been great if I had some bread to eat with the tuna that I just made. Literally, less then a minute later, my neighbor knocks on my door with some fresh bread that she baked earlier in the evening. (True story.)

Another time, I thought about someone being locked out of her apartment, and sure enough, she was. I didn’t even share that passing thought with her, until a few days later when she informed me that she locked herself. Imagine my disbelief when I heard her story! (She still blames me for having those thoughts about her lol.)

It’s crazy to me because it’s just a passing thought that becomes reality. Today, I encountered another incident.

Just four days ago, I was drafting some passing thoughts about a possible topic that I would write for this blog: “have to” versus “want to.” I was going to list some of the things that I “want to” do. My bucket list. I jotted some notes, tried to craft some ideas but wasn’t sure how to convey them. I also listed one “want to” item on the list: “I want to see Keith Urban live in concert.” I left the draft as is and didn’t think twice about it.

Today, at 7:15 a.m., my alarm went off to remind me that the local Country music radio station was going to make a “BIG” concert announcement at 7:20. I almost forgot, and was grateful that I had set that alarm a couple of weeks ago.

I got ready for work, and hopped into my car. As I was listening to the radio station, waiting for the announcement, I couldn’t help but think, “I would love to see Keith Urban in concert. Maybe one day I’ll get to see him perform when I’m on the mainland.”

Hawaii has a small market for Country music. The idea of Keith having a concert here seemed far-fetched. Until I heard the announcement. Excitement filled my heart. I screamed in my car. “I’M EXCITED!” Thank God the windows were up.

I was also in disbelief at the fact that the date of the concert is perfect. It’ll be just 3 days after I go to Principia. I can be back in time to see him perform live. I couldn’t have wished for better news, or plan it any other way.

The craziest thing I just realized as I write this is that I came home tonight after hanging out at a place in Chinatown called Manifest. We were celebrating a friend’s new journey in his career. Manifestation. Manifest. Boy oh boy! What a day. I seem to be on a roll.
